UPCOMING EVENTS
Fellow Pilots,
This past March I sent out an initial email about an event in August. Amity Athletic Club is hosting a FIRST RESPONDERS BENEFIT event (see flyer). For those who received that first email this is a reminder, for those hearing about this for the first time please consider this an invitation to come play with other balloons.
This one flight event will be held on Friday, August 9th, with a rain date of Saturday, August 10th. The event will be open from 5:00 PM – 9:30 PM. The location of the event is: 55 Amity Park Road, Birdsboro, PA.
The organizers have already secured a tethered balloon. They would like an additional 10 balloons (approx) to:
“Meet & Greet” the public if possible before flight operations start.
Inflate and fly away (weather permitting) OR stay behind and Glow.
If weather doesn’t permit flight, help with whatever you feel comfortable doing:
Continue “Meet & Greet”
“Puff & Fluff”
“Chip Shot”
“Candle Stick”
“Glow”
The launch field is lighted, making it easy to pack up if you don’t fly. Propane will be available: Come full – leave full! The pool will be open from 5:00 – 9:30 – bring the family for a quick dip!Additional entertainment will be 30 different fire, police, & EMS apparatus for all to explore. They are hopeful for their plans of demonstrations by K-9 and SWAT units. Vendors will also be on site. Fireworks go off at 9:30!!
Passengers – You can bring your own passengers if you’d like. Would you like to fly passengers from the event? Let us know how many, & maximum weight. Remember, we’re talking August!

I initially said I wouldn’t be attending because of our long standing commitment to St. Jean-sur-Richelieu Festival in Quebec. We have decided not to travel to Canada this year and will be attending Amity A.C.’s event – our son Ryan is planning to come and fly as well!

COOK OUT! Ken Leota and Keith Sproul are bringing grills!
GEBA will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, and soft drinks.
Location: Coleman Hays Farm, 138 Walter Road, Chalfont, PA.
WHEN: Sunday Sunday, 2025 2pm – Evening Fly out
PLEASE BRING: A passing side dish or dessert, lawn games, fold up chairs (the farm has several picnic tables, but additional chairs and regular post ballooning tables are welcome).
In the event of inclement weather, our gracious hosts have offered the use of their barn. We are hoping for GREAT WEATHER, so bring your balloon rig for a possible fly out!
Safety Note: Please no consumption of alcoholic beverages on site and No Smoking in the barn.
